Abstract of Obituary of George Washington Raysor
(no name of newspaper or year given, but the town is obviously Walterboro;
G.W.Raysor died in 1907)

Capt. George Washington Raysor died of heart failure Thursday afternoon
at the age of 76, having apparently been in good health. His wife had passed
away just three weeks earlier. He had retired from business several
years earlier as a partner in the Stokes and Raysor Lumber Company. At
the time of his death he was a director in the Farmers & Merchants
Bank, Walterboro Cotton Oil Company, and Cummings Iron Works and Supply
Company.
He was survived by the following:
A brother, Henry Raysor of Allendale
A brother, Lee Raysor of Florida
A sister, Mrs. Benjamin Risher of Round O
A sister, Mrs. Laurence Wolfe (nee Sarah Chalmers Raysor) of Chattanooga
An adopted daughter, Mrs. C.H. Koger or Columbia

of the War Between the States)

Petition states:
1. That G.W. Raysor of Colleton County died intestate July 4, 1907,
leaving
a considerable estate of personal property consisting in money in
bank,
securities & other property totalling in value of more than
$5,000.
2. That he was survived by the following as heirs at law and distributees
brother and sisters as follows:
* H.C. Raysor, a brother
* L.M. Raysor, a brother
* Mrs. Elizabeth Risher, a sister
* Mrs. Sarah Wolf, a sister
* "...and the children of Mrs.
Harriet Thames (?) and Mrs. Rebecca Hiers, deceased sisters, and children
of James Raysor"
Petitioner, as eldest brother (Henry) of said deceased is entitled
to letters of administration as next of kin, and asks court to appoint
him as administrator of said estate.
