Mildred Lucille
was my paternal grandmother, and Edith Theresa is the one
who left me the Bible, as well as a photo of Isabella Johnson,
Ella Laura
Raysor, Mary Elizabeth Nalley, and Daisy Beatrice Colson. It is
only
because of the note that she left with the photo that I was able to
figure out
that Ella Laura was Isabella Johnson's daughter.
Before that, I had been guessing that she
was Alfred William Raysor’s (b. 1829) daughter. The
family bible is not very good
at detailing how
the families lay out.
I know that my Great Aunt Edith would have been able to give
me a lot more information, but she passed away last fall, and the last
time I
had seen her, I was only about 12 years old. I
told her then that I was interested in the family
history, and that is
when she decided to leave me the Bible, but unfortunately, I wasn’t
able to
spend any time on the history before her death.
